Looking for a part-time, seasonal intern from January 8- April 15, 2024.  Morning and/or afternoons schedules possible. Some Saturday mornings may be required.  Our office is in Ammon, but remote work may be possible on occasion. Must have reliable transportation. Pay is $12-$14/hour DOE.  Potential for permanent employment.

 

Behling Tax & Accounting is in search of a motivated and qualified intern who is pursuing a degree in accounting or taxation. We offer hands-on experience with a focus on individual taxation with opportunities to get involved with business taxes and financial statement preparation.

 

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare tax returns, monthly write-up services, and perform basic tax work as required.

• Ability to establish workload priorities and perform assigned tasks on engagements or projects in a timely manner.

• Meet deadlines for completion of tax returns and other projects as assigned.

• Develop a working knowledge of tax preparation software and other software necessary to prepare tax returns, tax projections, and other tax related projects.

• Organizes and prepares work papers clearly, neatly, and accurately.

 

Duties will vary based on the needs of the firm and the intern’s training and experience. Training, guidance, and mentoring will be provided by team members.

Experience and Skills

• Currently enrolled in a college accounting curriculum, accounting major preferred.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently and on a team.

• Willingness to learn and highly motivated to succeed.

• Attention to detail.

• Strong computer and software skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Quick Books, Xero or VITA experience preferred.
